Downtown Atlanta -The Varsity Restaurant

Atlanta
Are you visiting Atlanta anytime soon? Maybe you're coming to see the world's largest laser show at Stone Mountain, or maybe you're visiting another outstanding landmark like the CNN Headquarters building.
If you are an animal enthusiast then perhaps you're touring the giant panda site at the atlanta zoo or viewing the underwater exhibits at the Georgia Aquarium. Maybe you're not touring at all and you have an important conference to attend or some booth to setup at the yearly Dragoncon event on Labor weekend.
There's a laundry list of reasons why one would visit Atlanta, be it Turner Field (home of Atlanta Braves) or flying via the Atlanta Airport to a different destination altogether. In any case, one thing is certain...if you are visiting Atl, then you must eat at the Varsity located in downtown Atlanta!!
Atlanta Varsity Menu
The Varsity: Downtown Atlanta
There are several Varsity restaurants scattered throughout the city, but the one located in downtown Atlanta is by far the best! It's legendary, the one where all the tourists and locals alike come to visit. On a busy day, such as the day of a Georgia Tech football game, the Varsity has been known to serve over 30,000 customers. And why not? It's a convenient, quick, and delicious!
Upon arrival, it feels like you are instantly transported back in time, somewhere in the mid 1950's America. Your eyes dart across glossy white tiles and classic bright red diner booths. Then you walk through the maze of seating areas carved out by walls you would expect to see back in the day.
Then 'maze' leads you to the serving line. This is a sight to see! There's, I don't know, perhaps 10 cashier stations...it's really hard to tell. You're almost in a state of confusion as all the sweet smells from the kitchen come rushing into your nostrils. Furthermore, the room is filled with chants echoing off the restaurant walls:
"What'll ya have? What'll ya have?"...over and over again.
I know this may sound cliche, but words do not describe the overall Varsity experience in downtown Atlanta. You just have to be there. It's a blast!

Varsity Food
As for the food at the Varsity, what can I say, it is mouthwatering good. Whether it be the chili cheese dog, the glorified bacon chesseburger, or the juicy onion rings, you really cannot go wrong! It's all wonderfully delicious.
I still remember my first bite into a chili cheese dog. The taste was so marvelous, so memorable, so...magnificent. Honestly, I don't know what their secret ingredient is but there's an instant addiction, a craving that will forever be embedded into your soul. It's the taste of pure bliss.
